How Exportain verifies suppliers, and what it does not do
This page describes the checks that exist on the platform today. Where a control is not yet in place, it says so rather than implying it.
Supplier verification
A document review by Exportain's team. It is not a factory inspection, and it is not a check against any government database.
A Bangladeshi supplier submits each check separately. Every submission is reviewed by Exportain staff and approved, returned for changes, or rejected. Approved checks earn trust badges, which appear on the supplier's profile, product cards and directory rows.
Identity
A government ID and a live selfie of the person running the account.
Phone and email
One-time codes confirm the account's phone number and email address.
Business registration
Trade licence and, where provided, TIN and incorporation documents.
Export registration
The Export Registration Certificate (ERC).
Facility
Photos of the factory, or of a trading company's office or warehouse.

A badge is not a guarantee of production capacity, product quality or delivery. A company without a badge shows nothing — not a grey placeholder.
Verification is free and never purchased. Membership plans are a separate product and never grant a trust badge.
Account security
Buyer and supplier accounts confirm ownership of an email address or phone number with a one-time code. Sessions are issued per device and can be signed out.
Data protection
Verification documents and identity files are stored in private storage with no public address. They are served only through short-lived signed links issued after an authorisation check, and only to the company that owns them and to verification staff.
Administration
Verification decisions are made by staff with a specific role and permission set, and every review action is written to an audit log before it takes effect.
Payments and orders
What happens after a quotation is accepted.
When a buyer accepts a quotation, Exportain creates one order and issues one proforma invoice from the accepted terms — quantity, unit price, currency and Incoterm as quoted. A quotation can be accepted once; a second acceptance for the same request is refused.
Exportain does not hold funds for a trade in goods. Payment is arranged between the buyer and the supplier on the terms stated in the proforma invoice. Exportain does hold payment for a trade service ordered and paid through the platform — from the moment the customer pays until the order is released to the provider, refunded, or cancelled, with a dispute freezing it in between.
Disputes
If a trade goes wrong, either party can raise a dispute on the order. Exportain reviews the RFQ, quotation history, messages and documents held on the platform and records its findings. Exportain is not a court and cannot compel payment or delivery; it can suspend or remove a company from the marketplace.
