Millets are cereal grains belonging to the Poaceae family, or grass family.

Rice, wheat, and millets are staple grains with varying nutritional profiles. Millets are rich in fibre, protein, and mineral content. As part of Indian government’s campaign to promote millets, here are some dishes that are likely to be on G20 platter.  

Ragi Ladoos

Made from millet and desi ghee, Ragi ladoos are rich in calcium, iron, and fibre. They boost energy and also aid digestion. 

Barley Kheer

 A creamy Indian dessert, made from barley, jaggery and ghee, it is rich in fibre, vitamins, and minerals. 

Ragi Barfi

Delightful Indian dessert, made from Ragi flour, jaggery, almonds, milk and ghee. 

Ragi Dosa

South India’s favourite dish, Ragi Dosa is made from soaked and blended ‘urad dal’ and ragi flour. It is rich in calcium, fibre, and iron.
