Pollution in New Delhi

Air pollution in India's Delhi and National Capital Region has been at a new high since the last week of October. On Nov 3, Delhi-NCR's air quality breached the '400' danger mark on a scale of 500. To safeguard yourself from the harmful effects of pollution, it is crucial to wear masks and add these superfoods to your meals to maintain or boost body's oxygen levels.

Lemons

Lemons rich with Vitamin C help in forming oxygen transporters present in haemoglobin. Simply have a glass of warm lemon water on an empty stomach to improve oxygen levels and overall health.

Turmeric

Turmeric can increase nitric oxide levels, which is responsible for widening blood vessels and improving the blood flow to the vital organs, hence increasing the oxygen levels in the body.

Grapes

Grapes are packed with antioxidants that hold a key role in improving the blood flow in the system. Consuming dark purple grapes, specifically, reduces circulation problems and helps increase oxygen levels in the body.

Avocados

Avocados are enriched with vitamins A, B3, B6, B12, choline, folate, and healthy fats. These nutrients support in enhancing oxygen levels and regulate blood sugar levels. Avocado smoothies, salads, hummus, or spreads are delicious ways to give your oxygen level a boost.

Beetroot

Beetroots are an impressive source of nutrients like fibre, vitamin C, folate, manganese, iron, and potassium. While being rich in iron and folate, beetroots promote nitrate production in the system, improving oxygen absorption in the blood.

Spinach

Green leafy vegetables like spinach are a rich source of nitrates. The body converts nitrates into nitric oxide, which help blood flowing throughout the vital organs without any hindrance. This helps in boosting the oxygen level of the body.

Nuts

Nuts comes with a plethora of nutrients. They are greatly beneficial to the heart and blood vessels as they support smooth blood flow in the body and improve oxygen levels. Munch on a few nuts as a snack to curb hunger pangs and boost energy levels.
